Closing the Company

In May of 2023 I had the incredible opportunity to join the software development team of SolidWP. Programming computers was always an interest of mine, though it was eye opening to realized I had the capability to work full time as a software developer. I hired a coach to help prepare for programming interviews, but instead he asked me to apply for an opening at the company he worked for. He said I was ready. I got the job and love it (thank you Jason). Branching off in a new direction, still building, just in a totally new way.

Hooks Crane Service had been a large part of my life. I grew up with my father building the business. I remember being around cranes at a young age. I began working with him in 2005 and for 18 years we worked together craning all over Southeast Washington state. There were a lot of struggles, owning a small business is complex and the liability of crane work brings with it a lot of stress. So while it was sad to close the business, in some ways it has been a relief.

My old crane can still be seen around town, I sold it to Jason Lindgren. He is now running his own business after years of working for other crane companies. It was great to pass on my customers to someone I trust.
